I went to check on Heart’s Master this morning (because I’m a dork like that) and I found this:

heart-s-master-kindle-edition-by-elizabeth-schechter-romance-kindle-ebooks-amazon-com

It came out Thursday, and it’s broken the top 100 on Amazon for Gay Erotica. (It premiered at 154, I think.)

Wow!

Remember that secret?

Here ’tis! Brand new cover art for Haven’s Fall (Rebel Mage 2). Now with more Matthias and Solomon!

havensfall_cvrprt

We have a blurb, too:

Haven had been their goal since escaping the destruction of the School. Haven had promised safety, rest, an end to running and death. But things had gone badly wrong in the mountains. Tam and Linnea had to leave Matthias and Solomon behind to face the Elders, hoping to return for them once they’d found Haven. The reality does not live up to the promise. Isolated and dying, Haven fears outsiders almost more than it needs new blood. With only the griffon Dancer and the human healer Ilane for allies, Tam and Linnea fear that Haven’s rulers will prevent them from going back for their friends—then fire rains down from the sky, and things became so much worse for everyone.

Book goes live in ebook and print on December 6th, but you can pre-order it now!

This morning, I sent the manuscripts for Tales from the Arena over to Circlet, asking if they were interested in acquiring the reprint rights.

This afternoon, I got an email from Cecilia — “MINE!”

A few minutes later, this went out:

So, I think it’s safe to say that Circlet Press is acquiring the reprint rights to both Tales from the Arena books!

Hidden Things is complete at 65,500. Less than I was expecting, but there’s also less sex than I was expecting in this one.

Now, this means that I’m off for the summer. For varying values of off. I still have four synopsi to write, and convention prep.

This was also happening.

New from me, and available tomorrow in all the virtual places…

PErsephone

In ancient times, when the Gods walked the world, the God of the Underworld kidnapped a girl named Persephone. He carried her off to the Realm of the Dead and through trickery, forced her to remain with him and become his Queen.

Everyone knows the story.

Or do they?

I did something tonight I don’t usually do. I went out to dinner. (I’m gluten intolerant, which makes eating out a game of Russian Roulette.) But my sister and brother-in-law and the cutest nephew on the Eastern Seaboard are in town, and we went out to dinner with them.

Left Universal Citywalk in a monsoon, which passed just as we bought and donned ponchos. We drove out onto I-4 underneath a gorgeous double rainbow. It took forever to get home because we caught the storm on its way north (it’s now sitting on top of my house).

Once we were finally home, I turned on the computer and checked my email. Apparently, we had the celebratory dinner and rainbows before I knew we were celebrating, because in my email was a contract for Heart’s Master!

Yippee!!!!

…will mean something entirely different soon.

My newest novel, The School, has been acquired by Forbidden Fiction. Manuscript is delivered, contract is signed, edits will begin whenever they begin.

The School is a dark, post-apocalyptic fantasy, featuring my first ever Asexual character.* Very dark. REALLY dark. I went all in on the dark.** To the point that I had three beta readers back out when I warned them. Now, most of the time, I don’t know where the dark comes from. For this one, I do.

A year ago in December, my sister and her husband both caught that nasty flu. My sister ended up in the hospital, and I jumped on a plane and flew from Florida to North Carolina to help out with their daughters. Which involved taking the girls to church — three times in one day (Mass, rehearsals for the Christmas pageant for the younger, and religious education for the older one).

So, six times in one day, I passed the Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center.

The history of this place is lurid at best. And not long after came the discovery of bodies at the Florida School for Boys.

Add them both together, and you have The School.

“Be a good boy, or you’ll get sent to The School….”

* Yes. Erotic romance with an Ace hero. The research on this was interesting. I learned a lot.
** And you thought chapter 7 was bad dark…
